Tim, are you abolutely sure that it was Denny who insisited on the name, or as it the CEOs/Managers/Board of Directors of the bank and hospital?

I don’t understand all the amosity. Both businesses provide employment opportunities, and provide good services for people who choose to use either or both organization.

To harbor bitter feelings toward either organization is insulting of the employees who do their very best to serve the consumers well.

Back to the topic at hand, Doug I enjoy your articles. I have seen people walking across the street without looking for oncoming traffic because they are so involved with their iphones or cell phones.

Bars??? You said “everyone ate their fill of sandwiches, salads, and bars.” My father’s funeral was in Sioux Falls some years ago, and I remember the funeral director suggesting that we go to the Hi Vee to get some BARS for the reception. My wife is not a South Dakotan, and I haven’t lived there for 40 years or so – we had no idea what this guy was talking about. My wife still laughs about that conversation – we didn’t know what bars or Hi Vee meant… No offense to Hi Vee, but we asked Rue 41 to cater the reception – we found that they spoke our language just fine…

Too funny, Donna! I thought the same thing, because my mom’s “Pa” was from “Trun-yum”, too! Grandpa Kvidahl (pronounced KWEE-doll by most of my grandpa Chris’s family, Kuh-VEE-doll by others) was the one who taught me to play cribbage.
