Way to go, Doug. I have fond memories of the Mogen’s Heroes (and before that, Evergreen Trio) engagements in Parker at which we came to know Mylo (where I learned what the “up and down dance” is!). I’ll miss him and I knowTurner County will miss this generation-long community activist. Rest well, Mylo, you’ve done much good. My sympathies to Mylo’s family and friends.

Doug I feel like i knew this guy, and wished I could have. He reminds me of an old neighbor (Wayne) of my parents that i knew growing up. I spent countless hours with Wayne in his work shop. He probably answered 10,000 of my “why” questions out there. Mylo seems like that kind of guy. When i googled his obituary i came across this site. I hope it works because it is kind of neat.

Mylo was a one-of-a-kind friend. He and Dorothy were always so encouraging to me. Visits to their home were educational and inspirational. They had two or three projects going at all times. The Preheims have the gift of making you feel like you are a part of their family. For this I thank them!

What a beautiful tribute. I had the privilege of visiting Cheryl, John and Dorothy on June 3, on the way driving back to Montana from the Vermillion area. As we sat in the living room Dorothy was clutching this little booklet about the Dakota Special, which she was eager and proud to show me. It made her smile to tell me about all the trips they’d made with this clever train. This article confirms the pride she deserved to feel for a project that brought joy to so many. My heart goes out to the family, with hopes that this article and that little booklet, along with myriad great memories, will bring comfort in the same measure that Mylo’s dreams and schemes brought happiness to others!
