The freezer you say Grouse? Hmmmm, I've just kept mine in the meat drawer... I never was sure if it was "gude"...or "råtten"....I ate it anyway.... It's hard to tell when lutefisk is not "gude anymore"...and a person just can't take the chance of throwing it out.
I finished my last on the 4th of Juli....I did notice that I had a little more gas than usual. The gude news....The Olson Fish Co. of Nort Minneapolis has big batches in the tanks now....and the new Fall Season will soon begin. Lykke til Grouse... O Skal...Aquavit småke gude"...

What a great trip. Hearst Castle is one of my many favorite weekend spots here in CA while spending a relaxing weekend in Cambria or wine tasting in Paso Robles. The history is incredibe. The place is so grand that they have about four different tours you can take - one which includes an evening tour with a cast of people "dressed" up in the era enjoying the Castle as if they were guests roaming the property - its incredible! You just cannot get enough of it in one trip. Another excuse to come back! Did you guys happen to stop off down the road in Morrow Bay to check out Morrow Rock?! Lots of shops and great clam chowder!

Hello GMAX9....No Aquavit.....We just discovered a whole pound of lutefisk hidden behind a rib roast in the freezer....So naturally I'm ecstatic and just plain giddy with delight. But now that you mention it, a little Aquavit might just tickle the palate. I'll bet GP is going through his freezer right now.

Hey cuz, you didn't answer my question about how long it took you to hide that illegal seedling in your backyard. Do buzzards habitually lurk high overhead in those illegal trees, or can your neighbors go about their lives without constant worry about having their eyes pecked out, or bits of exposed flesh torn randomly from their bodies? I think they'll probably be o.k., but planting those seeds could be an ecological nightmare. I'm thinkin' movie! Jay gets the lead role! He'll be a shy, yet confident former CIA agent, who while home for Christmas discovers a plot by Al Queda to expose that contraband tree in your back yard and it's filthy, disease laden buzzards to blame all Lutherans for all the problems in the world. Knowing that we are quiet, back row sitting folks, who only crave bland whitish foods covered in butter, decide we will be the easiest to cross....not knowing about the half-crazed Viking blood that lies just underneath the surface. Oh yeah, and Jay gets the girl. She'll be half Norwegian Lutheran and half Muslim. Naturally, Lutheran theology wins out, and Jay is named Bishop.
