My sister has lived in San Francisco for 30 years, so I am a frequent visitor. I'd move there in a heartbeat, if I could afford it. It is the most beautiful city I have ever visited. Every view is like looking at a postcard. You picked the worst possible time to visit, though, Doug. Europe basically shuts down From August 1st through early September, so the city is clogged with Europeans on vacation that time of year. Labor Day weekend only adds more visitors to the mix. October is my favorite month to visit San Francisco. The weather is warm and sunny and 90% of the tourists are long gone. It's a perfect time to explore the city. Shoot me an e-mail the next time you visit, Doug. I have lots of suggestions that would make your trip more enjoyable.
