Last night’s rain pushed Sioux Falls over the 30-inch mark for the year.  We’ll take a look back at record rainfall.

Storms moving through Dimock, South Dakota, caused some damage at a lumber yard and a farm.  We’ll show you the damage tonight on KELOLAND News.

We’ll also have an update from Mayor Mike Huether on Sioux Falls construction projects.  He’s holding a news conference at 10:30 a.m. today to go over the details.

Last night’s storm did quite a bit of damage in the Yankton area.  We had reports of campers overturned, trees uprooted, and minor injuries.

We’re in the courtroom today where Benjamin Carter faces murder, robbery and arson charges in connection with the death of Joseph Cynkar.  Payton Strum will be in court Tuesday.

It’s the official start of Sturgis and we’ll show you the transformation at the campgrounds in the area.

A local woman will appear as a contestant on the next season of Survivor.  We’ll introduce you to her tonight on KELOLAND News.

  • Officials have approved AT&T’s acquisition of Alltel … and this topic dominated our morning meeting.  What does this mean for Alltel customers?  How much longer before the iPhone makes its South Dakota debut?  We’re getting your thoughts on the topic on our Facebook page.  What are your thoughts?  Have you been waiting to get an iPhone?  If your current provider is not Alltel, would you leave them to get an iPhone?
  • We talked about the group threatening to sue McDonald’s if they don’t stop including toys in their kid’s meals.  Some of the parents in our newsroom talked about how the toys may be a positive reinforcement for kids who eat their meal.  Others discussed the toys as “collector’s items.”  It’s getting some discussion on our forums as well.  What do you think?  Let us know in the comment section below.
