LifeLight Festival Webcam

Our LifeLight Festival camera is up and running (though it has had a few technical hiccups) and ready for a weekend of music in Worthing, South Dakota.  You can find this, along with webcams from other areas, on KELOLAND.com.  Just click on the radar and the webcams tab.

This is the first year for the festival at their new location.  We’ll tell you about what kind of traffic and parking to expect in the area.

After a few delays, River Boulevard is set to open one lane in each direction in the westbound lanes today.  We’ll talk about when the entire project is expected to be finished.

With school starting soon, how do you get your kids back into their regular sleep schedule?  Do you have any tips or tricks?  Tonight on HealthBeat, we’ll show you how to ease the early morning wake up call.

Summer may be coming to a close for area students, but construction is still alive and well throughout the state and the city of Sioux Falls.  Monday, crews are set to start work on Russell Street from the Big Sioux River bridge to Minnesota Avenue — AND Minnesota Avenue from Russell Street to 18th Street.  We’ll have a preview of this project and updates on the others.

We didn’t get as much rain as predicted last night, so we’re talking to the City about how this should help get things back to normal in the sanitary sewer system, which has had issues the past couple weeks.

- It’s expected to be hot this weekend.  Maybe the hottest it has been all summer.  With events like JazzFest and more people spending time outdoors, we’ll be talking about heatstroke and what you can do to stay safe on tonight’s HealthBeat.

- Speaking of JazzFest, we’ll be talking about local talent and the second stage.  Who are you looking forward to hearing at JazzFest?

- There’s an arrest in the casino robbery from Monday.  We’ll follow up with details.

- The 41st Street bridge project is wrapping up, but there’s still some work to be done.   You’ll be able to drive on the newest section of the bridge starting today.  Obviously, drivers will be happy, but what does it mean to businesses?  We’ll have the story for you tonight.

- Wally Wingert is the voice of The Tonight Show and he’s a South Dakota native.  We’ll tell you about his voiceover career.  Check out a preview:

After an accident on I-229 where officials say a 28-year-old woman was driving drunk and going the wrong way down the interstate, we’re looking into DUI numbers and repeat offenders.  Tammy Kvasnicka was charged with her third DUI among other charges, and we’re curious about state statistics involving repeat offenders.

A couple streets are under construction starting this week, including a three-block stretch of 21st Street.  That’s going on until September.  Another project is on 8th Street, and we’ll tell you about that tonight.

We have details on the Sioux Falls School District’s budget plan, which includes a new opt-out.

And, if that wasn’t enough, we were joined by meteorologists Jay Trobec and Brian Karstens this morning.  They briefed us on the risk for severe weather in the northeastern part of the state.  Make sure you stay with KELOLAND TV and KELOLAND.com for the latest.
