49, 50, 60! The high temperatures in Sioux Falls the next three days are what everyone’s been waiting for. There’s a 70 in the forecast for Rapid City. And it looks like they’ll top out around 50 on Wednesday in Aberdeen.

But the warm temperatures will also bring a threat of flooding for some areas around KELOLAND and our crews are working to show you what areas are at risk and how people are preparing.

Today, Shawn Neisteadt is headded to Dell Rapids where Minnehaha County officials have mentioned they could see flooding first. We’ll show you how they’re preparing there .  Nicole Winters is in Renner today where they’re coordinating sandbagging efforts for later this week.

Are you doing anything to get ready for extra water?  That’s what asking people on our KELOLAND Facebook Page today.

We’re already getting reports of ice jams causing problems… but this one is farther west.  Austin Hoffman is going to talk with a rancher whose property is underwater.  We already have some pictures of the situation on the Cheyenne River.  You can see the photo gallery here.

It’s a big day for Jackrabbit fans. The South Dakota State University women’s basketball players will find out today at 6 p.m. CDT who they will take on in the first round of the NCAA tournament. SDSU is holding a selection party at Frost Arena that’s open to the public.

Katie Janssen is talking with students today about the Jackrabbit’s third straight trip to the big dance. Then KELOLAND Sports Director Matt Holsen and reporter Ben Dunsmoor will be at the selection party to bring you team and fan reaction live tonight on KELOLAND News at 6.
