So, it’s not so much a snow day as it is an extremely cold day. There were far fewer cars on the roads and at local businesses on my way in this morning which has us wondering what you are doing today? Let us know on our KELOLAND Facebook page. We’re a bit curious whether kids will head outside this afternoon even though it’s too dangerous to be at school.

Sioux Falls School Superintendent Pam Homan sent out an automated phone call after nine last night to close school today. Our Katie Janssen is going to follow up with the district today.

Erich Schaffhauser is in one of the coldest areas where the air temperature alone reached -30 degrees. He’s going to show you how people are coping in Aberdeen.

It may not have snowed, but this extreme cold is also making most highways in the state slippery Check out the latest conditions here.  Kelly Bartnick was at the scene of the massive accident that shut down part of Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls today. UPDATE: Check out the great photos posted on the story: Crash Slows Traffic On Interstate 29.

And we have an update on the investigation into the closure of Interlude Bridal Shoppe in Sioux Falls. Officials now have dozens of more reports from brides who have having problems with the company and it’s owner. Again, if you’re one of them, call the Attorney General’s Division of Consumer Protection at 800-300-1986 if you’re in South Dakota or (605) 773-4400 from out of state.

And we’re also celebrating at KELO-TV today because our Facebook page has reached more than 10-thousand fans! Thanks for joining in the conversations and keep the responses coming!
